Happy Easter 2016

This year Easter Sunday is 27th March 2016, not very long to go. As this is our first Easter we have gone all out!

All our Easter eggs are giant and hand made by artisan chocolatiers in our chocolaterie in Birmingham’s Historic Jewellery Quarter so, any two will NEVER look the same. Because they are not mass produced by machines we can make them with an incredibly thick shell that we guarantee will be challenge to break. Handmade eggs are cast in two parts, which are joined together after we fill them. That means when you finally get into it there is more luxury chocolate inside!

We have a range of three Easter eggs to fit everyone’s taste:

  1. THE POPPING CANDY EGG is made with pure Belgian milk chocolate combined with a layer of popping candy to give you a taste of the old days or give one young’en a bit of a surprise. The hand tempered chocolate is painted with a colourful “splashed paint” design packed with our own handmade milk chocolate buttons decorated with a baby chick design printed on one side. £25
  2. THE PEACOCK priya mendhi artistEGG is made with pure Belgian milk chocolate and decorated with an intricate hand pipped pure Belgian white chocolate “mendhi” design. No icing sugar or corn starch tricks used – it is all about the taste and the chocolate!! The egg is packed with our £6 Easter truffle presentation box (see below). The design is a traditional Indian “mendhi” design created by a young up and coming Birmingham based mendhi artist Priya K. who made her name creating designs for traditional Indian weddings. Email priyasandhu490@yahoo.com to see more of her work. £25
  3. THE HOT CROSS BUN EGG is a more “traditional” hot-cross bun inspired egg. It is slightly larger and made from pure dark chocolate and hand pipped with an intricate pure dark chocolate cross motif. It has sultana inclusions and be flavoured with oranges. As none of our chocolates have any vegetable fats in them and we wanted the chocolate to have a kick we have painstakingly drawn the orange flavour from fresh oranges into pure cacoa butter that we then use to flavour the dark chocolate along with some of the zest right in the chocolate. The egg is packed with our £6 Easter truffle presentation box (see below). £30

The peacock egg and hot cross bun egg will include a £6 box of handmade chocolate truffles all gift wrapped in a presentation box inside the eggs The flavours will be 2 Strawberry and balsamic vinegar caramels in a milk chocolate shell and 2 Lemon and Lime white ganaches in a white chocolate shell. As it is Easter and Fresh is the name of the game they are both made with fruit puree (no artificial flavours). This will provide a fresher and lighter taste than synthetic flavours or natural oil based flavouring techniques the shelf life is 3 months.

Each egg is hand wrapped and ribboned and then placed into a transparent presentation box or for £5 we will package it into a traditional wooden basket. Also every egg gets a free baby chick cuddly toy (while stocks last).

Customers must pre order on-line or in store to guarantee the egg they want in time for Easter (normally available 24-48 hours after pre-order). There can be a rush on eggs the week before Easter and we can run out of particular styles if you do not pre-book.
